Open Question: When getting a cystoscopy can you have PLASTIC facial jewelry in?

I understand that all piercings have to be taken out because of the metal, but is PLASTIC jewelry allowed?
I have 3 lip rings and i just got 2 of them at the end of january, so they are still new, and i dont want them to close up! HELP!
