Open Question: I am looking for help becoming a renaissance festival vendor, preferably from people who are.?

Specifically my questions are: Is there a special license for this type of traveling business, or do I have to get the city or county license for each faire? Or if neither, how does licensing work in this business?

Traveling around the country is expensive, materials are expensive, space in faires is expensive.... Just how difficult is it to make a halfway decent living at this?

And finally, how does the traveling life work for families with kids? Specifically once they hit school age?

Any other help or advice would be great as well. My family really wants to make a change in life, and spend it doing something we enjoy, but for all our research and planning we feel pretty lost. ^.^

(Not sure if this info might change answers, so I will add that we plan to deal mainly with jewelry and chain mail items.)
