Open Question: Guys: Would you dare propose to a girl with a cheap ring?

And girls, how do you feel about the idea of a guy proposing to you with a cheap ring, or a really small diamond that obviously didn't cost all that much?

I read all these pages about people trying to finance a ring. Why? Why do people go through all the stress for the jewelry?

Girls, do you actually care?

Lots of days, I tell myself that I wouldn't mind if my guy proposed to me with a crappy ring that doesn't even have to have diamonds on it. Maybe not even a ring, maybe even a string will do. Sorry, I'm not big on jewelry. Any girls can relate? Or is it actually something to bother about? Am I the one stupid girl out there?
