Open Question: Buying a necklace for a man?

I'm looking for a (or a part of a) 2nd anniversary present for my boyfriend. He moved abroad 3 months ago and I'm visiting in December so I'm planning on taking some other gifts with me, not just this.
I found some really cute jewelry which I'm pretty sure is just for women, but I was wondering if any men would wear a necklace like one of these? (Hidden, not to be displayed to anyone, just as a reminder to have on them).
Normally I would have said straight out NO, but I'm interested to hear different opinions because something about these is making me think ever so slightly maybe it might be ok.
I like the messages of them, and I could change the chain, but is the fact that they're (slightly feminine...) necklaces just a big no no?
