Open Question: Bump on inside of OLD lip piercing?

February 8, 2010 – 11:17 am

Hello,

I couldn't find an answer close to what I was looking for... Everything I could find was about NEW lip piercings.. but mine is a little over 7 months old.

So I have a bump about the size of a premature pea on the inside of my lip on my lip piercing. I have not changed my jewelry ever. It is a fish tail. It had developed a small bump similar to this when it was first pierced, but then went away and 7 months later it is back n slightly bigger.

Is it infected? I seem to keep my mouth fairly clean and try not to put foreign objects in it too often.
I don't smoke or drink. I don't eat spicy food very often at all as it burns on its way out.
I haven't changed my mouth routine. I don't play with it and I don't have crusties.

Besides the bump, slightly red on the inside, and tolerable pain... Everything else is the same and normal.

Should I leave it alone? or treat it with something and if so with what?
PS.. it has been like this for about 4 days now.
