Is it legal to take gold jewelry I buy in the US and pawn it in SE Asia?

Maybe it's a fluke but I found they offered me more than I bought it for my jewelry in Philippines, sometimes 1/2 more, depending on the deal I got for it in the original purchase. But I was too scared to go through with the transactions because there might be tariffs or I might have to declare it as income or pay taxes or who knows what and I didn't want to bother. How can I do it legally, if at all, for next time I visit?

  2. Listen to me I,m American. Yes you can but they will need to keep it till you get home. Also is depends what state you are in. Each State has it own laws.

  3. If it’s your personal jewelry (or small amounts) it’s legal. But if you move large amounts of gold into SE Asia it might be considered smuggling. You should find out what is the allowable weight you can bring into SE Asia without the need for a license.
